JOB DESCRIPTION

In this job you will assemble medium voltage switchgear, both standard and custom units. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and must meet requirements within time constraints. This is an assembly line operation involving as many as 12 stations. Initially, you will be assigned to one station but you will need to be flexible and open to working additional stations as business needs require. 

Tasks require a high degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools; occasionally work while standing on ladders; and occasionally work inside tight compartments. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Mechanical Sub-Assembly duties including: Pocket Assembly, Job order control, use of a computer for Resource Code retrieval from Oracle, Use of hand tools (drills, gauges, specialty tools for subs), Follow production schedule or the job order process, Read basic blueprints, produce according to Takt time, Assemble Alduti Handles, Barrier clips assembly, Door stop, screen stops, and snap-locks, and Other basic custom assemblies. 
  • Door Sub-Assembly duties including: Gasket sub-assembly, Use of overhead crane Install windows. 
  • Bolt Together which includes: Bus/Main and ground, Gasket and bushings are added, Lift up to 35-lbs, Read mechanical diagrams, Customization is applied - fixtures, options, etc., Ability to use fundamental math. 

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
  • Ability to use basic shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures. 
  • Ability to use and stand on a ladder while performing assemblies and using hand tools. 
  • Ability to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools. 
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures and read assembly prints. 

Relevant Work Experience:

Minimal mechanical aptitude. Ability to use hand tools and tape measures proficiently. 

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking. 
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5lbs. to 50 lbs. 
  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile). 
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs. 
  • Pushing: Occasional use of electric hand truck to move parts a moderate distance. 
  • Pulling: Occasional use of electric hand truck to move parts a moderate distance. 
  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete the assembly tasks. 
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees. 
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in size from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs., along with a variety of hand-tools.
