The Not That Late Jam with Mich Shirey and the Nightwatch

Originally brought together as the house band for Chicago's own late night talk show, The Not That Late Show, Mich Shirey and the Nightwatch have carved out a distinct niche for themselves within the realm of jazz fusion. With a sound deeply rooted in the rich traditions of legends like Jimmy Smith and The Meters, the band brings a fresh and reverential approach to their work. Fresh off of a performance at Thalia Hall for the annual Deff Jam in honor of the late Ryan Deffet, 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for "The Best House Band in all of Chicagoland", as they will release their debut album Live at WNIJ.
