You know that one detail that makes a costume feel right? The shoulder armor, the little shield, the mysterious medallion? Let’s make it.
In Costumes and Cosplay, you’ll learn to shape, sand, and style EVA foam, a material used by professional costume makers, to create their own wearable pieces and props. We’ll focus on small pieces you can give plenty of attention: wrist armor, a prop key, or a sleeve that turns an ordinary mug into something fit for a potion. You’ll explore how shaping and finishing can make foam look like it belongs in the world of your favorite character. Finally, a chance to say “This old thing?” while wearing shoulder armor. Bring the RPG to your LBD!
We love seeing an idea take shape in someone’s hands, especially when they stop to say, “Look at this!” Bring your kid and enjoy having someone right there who’s as excited about the details as you are.
No experience needed. Join us in time for Halloween and see what you can make your own.
Kids are welcome to take the class on their own. If you’d like to stay nearby, one parent or guardian per child can use our upstairs co-working lounge for free—just select the lounge add-on when registering.
