Are you a girlie obsessed with ghosts, aliens, true crime, cryptids, and anything else eerie or spooky? Do you crave new like-minded friends to accompany you in a deep dive into your favorite creepy topics and share the cozy, warm feeling of a terrifying horror film? Our group meets every first Thursday of the month from 7-9 at a city proper establishment to discuss topics like a true crime podcast or documentary, a trilogy of horror movies, a gothic fiction novel title, personal experiences and beliefs about spirits, historical sightings of Mothman or the Loch Ness Monster, etc.
Join “Ghouls and Girlies” for our August group discussion topic. Our event is for women, trans persons, & gender queer. We will examine specific historical cases of Mass Hysteria and Conversion Disorder and learn about their science and societal components. We will review 4 key events: Dancing Plague of 1518 // 1962 Tanganyika Laughter Epidemic // Havana Syndrome // 2011 Outbreak of Le Roy, NY High School Females.
