Cultural competence and humility lead to more effective mental healthcare for diverse populations. Understanding culture and traditional knowledge is key in establishing protective factors for Native American youth. We will discuss cultural competence as a lens to understand our school's students and families and acknowledge ways to cultivate culturally inclusive interventions. This program aims to enhance understanding, build relationships, improve health outcomes, acknowledge and understand the long history of bias and racism, and become a more informed advocate.
