The Ravenswood Community Council and 47th Ward Green Council are organizing a fall cleanup of the bioswales along the Berteau Greenway (btwn Ashland + Hermitage). We need a few helpers on Saturday, November 6 from 10am-12pm.

What is a bioswale?
Bioswales are landscaped drains filled with vegetation, compost, and riprap. Their gently sloping sides and lush greenery help protect local waterways by filtering silt and pollution. When properly cared for, they also reduce standing water that attracts mosquitoes, provide habitats for wildlife, and beautify our neighborhood.
What will we be doing?
- Removing sediment/silt from curb inflow points
- Removing trash
- Raking and bagging leaves, leaving a thin layer for mulch
