Will Quam, architecture photographer, researcher, and the enthusiast behind Brick of Chicago will lead an online tour that covers the history of brick making and brick building in Chicago. We'll follow the trends and fashions through Chicago's brick history. From rebuilding with common brick after fire, to the crisp red bricks of the late 1800s. From the wild colors, textures, and terracottas of the 1910s-30s, to brick and modernism in the 1950s-70s. Finally, we'll look at the innovations in brick making and brickwork in Chicago today. The tour will cover brick buildings in neighborhoods across Chicago. This program is hosted by Sulzer Regional Library.
