Independently Owned Ecommerce Pick + Pack Position

DEFY is a bag design and manufacturing company in Ravenswood seeking a part-time order packer 2 days a week to fulfill orders from our website and Amazon stores.
• Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 hours each, 16 hours a week
• 9:30 AM-5:30 PM with a 45 min paid lunch
• $17 an hour, no benefits
• Northside Ravenswood neighborhood

• Extra hours possible during busy periods
Responsible for:
• Picking products
• Packing and preparing boxes for shipment
• Processing products and supplies
• Visually inspecting products for quality before packing
• Ensure customer’s order matches picked products
• Pack products carefully to protect against shipping damage
• Stock, organize, and track inventory of shipping supplies
• Participate in light workspace maintenance and organization to maintain a safe and orderly work area
• Work with shipping manager to optimize operations and processes - continuous improvement
This position requires:
• Regularly required to use hands and arms to lift and prepare products
• Frequent standing, stooping, walking, climbing, sitting, repetitive motions
• Regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs
• Comfortable working in a space with a dog (a gentle giant)
• Work independently, headphones for music or podcasts
• Dependable and reliable
• Attention to detail, time management, organization, communication
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters required
