About G & G Law
G & G Law is a 21st century law firm with a mission to make quality legal services accessible to small businesses. Our legal services include client contracts, business formation, employment law, trademarks and intellectual property, outside general counsel, and the purchase and sale of businesses. We strive to provide smart, effective solutions by listening to our clients and thinking outside the box of traditional law firms. Find out more here: www.gglawoffices.com.
One of our values is “Happy Lawyers and Staff.” To us, this benefits both our team and our clients. While we endeavor to provide the same quality of work as big law firms, we recognize that our team members do and should have rich and fulfilling lives outside the firm. We don’t expect our team to work more than a regular, 9-5 schedule, and we can also make the schedule somewhat flexible with remote work for the right candidate.
The position is full-time, 35 hours per week. There will be opportunities for professional growth, with employee input. As our firm grows, we want our people to lean into roles that they find fulfilling.
We need someone organized, responsible, adaptable, and smart. Someone who loves checklists and schedules and color-coded everything. Someone who can identify and implement small procedural patches (or big ones) to improve and streamline our workflows. Someone who can keep multiple projects on track and take ownership of their management. Someone who can work in tandem with and contribute to a close-knit team where input is valued, respected, and asked for. We believe in constant growth and improvement (one of our firm’s values is “Keep Growing”), and expect and encourage the same in everyone on the team.
The position will involve assisting our attorneys in the provision of transactional legal services, working directly with our small business clients and our legal and administrative teams. This position will take ownership of legal project management, workflow management, helping to develop processes, incorporation of technology, creation of educational materials for newsletters and the website, etc.
-Detail-oriented and organized enough to track or recall specific client and project information.
-Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage several different projects.
-Experience with software and project management tools and ability to learn and implement new ones (such as practice management tools like Clio).
-Legal experience strongly preferred (e.g. legal research, filling out legal forms, reviewing contracts, etc.)
-Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
-5+ years of relevant experience.
-Excellent writing skills (bonus points for a deep-set hatred of legalese).
-Problem solver. Collaborative team worker.
-Ability to adapt to a role with numerous and shifting responsibilities.
-Professional and friendly client-facing demeanor.
Salary range is $45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance. We also have an entry-level listing for this position here for excellent candidates who may not meet these experience requirements.
To apply, please email cover letter, resume, and writing sample (blog post, research summary, or any other sample that you feel expresses your style) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include subject line “Legal Operations Assistant Application” or application will not be considered. If you’ve been out of school for a while and can’t remember your GPA, by all means apply! After all, experience is the best teacher. Please, no phone calls.
*Keep in mind, studies show that women typically only apply for a job where they meet 100% of the prerequisites, while men will typically apply if they only meet 60%. Similarly, we recognize that hiring with inflexible requirements can reproduce racist, classist, and ableist structures baked into conventional practices. We encourage all excellent applicants to apply.
G & G Law, LLC is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team that empowers each individual and represents a variety of backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and skills. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability or other circumstance, please contact us at email@example.com.
