SUMMARY:Still Open: Ink Paintings by Emily Rapport\, opening reception
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to visit Eat Paint Studio this Saturday\, July 10\, 1-6PM\, for the re-opening of our gallery and the opening reception for "Still Open\," a series of 24 new ink paintings on paper by local artist Emily Rapport. You can also preview the show on Friday from 12 - 5PM. The exhibit will be on view through August 14.\n\n\n\n"Still Open\," explores a familiar subject for Rapport - neighborhood scenes and portraits of a changing urban landscape. Her typically vibrant painting palette is restricted to monochromatic earth tones of black\, grey\, brown and sepia and feature down-at-the-heel homes\, corner stores\, vacant lots\, and construction sites from the near North side neighborhoods of Lincoln Square\, Ravenswood and Bowmanville.\n\n\n\nThese paintings are like short stories\; each narrative contributes to a larger sense of the current American landscape. Regular gallery hours resume this week\, they are: Friday and Saturday\, 12 - 5PM and by appointment.
