SUMMARY:Malt Row Hoppy Hour: Wild & Spontaneous Beers
DESCRIPTION:Sign up for our next guided beer tasting with Advanced Cicerone Shana Solarte and brewers from Dovetail\, Empirical\, Half Acre\, and Keeping Together.\n\n\n\nThis week we'll be discussing Wild and Spontaneously Fermented beers and tasting (up to) four locally-brewed examples. Taproom visitors typically have a lot of questions about these styles\, so don't miss out on the unique chance to learn directly from Malt Row brewers! Also note: wild does not always mean sour! Ask our panelists for details. Use the links below to purchase your beers in advance and sip-along! Presentation will be followed by Q&A.\n\nFeatured Beers include:\n\n\n	Dovetail's Dovetail's Fraise 2020: FRAISE comes from a conversation we had with some folks from Timmermans\, the legendary 300-year-old lambic brewery\, who came to visit Dovetail. They recommended using a "young" batch of our spontaneous beers- a 6-month-old blend of 4 barrels from our Fall 2018 season- for fruiting with 200kg of local strawberries. The beer then aged for an additional 7 months. Up until now\, we had only used 1-and 2-year blends before fruiting\, and we're delighted with the results from the advice our Belgian friends gave us. [available in 500ml bottles]\n	Half Acre's In the Pines: A Mixed Culture Foeder Beer named after an Appalachian folk tune that has been covered by hundreds of musicians across multiple genres. Appropriately\, the individual ingredients within the beer may change batch to batch\, but it will always be a sensory fusion of hops\, our house culture and time. This batch features Pilsner\, Vienna and wheat malt with a candid addition of Mosaic hops from the Pacific Northwest. Spruce\, resin and candied pineapple with an approachable acidity that stabilizes this beer's drinkability. [available in 750ml bottles]\n	Empirical's Pollux Passionfruit Wild Ale: An 18 IBU\, 3.1 SRM wild ale fermented and aged on passionfruit. Dry and funky with a hint of fruit. [available in growlers and 500ml bottes]\n	Keeping Together's Thoughts Without A Thinker: A mixed fermentation saison made with earl grey tea\, oranges\, and saffron. Note: This beer is being sold out of the Half Acre Lincoln Bottle shop / curbside operation. [available in 750ml bottles] Learn more about Keeping Together\n\nPro Tip: Only one registration required per household! We appreciate your support but if you're watching with family\, please only register/donate once. That way we can make "space" for even more people to join the Hoppy Hour!
