DESCRIPTION:Join Lillstreet for an online event with Chicago-based Textiles Artist\, Lucia Calderon Arrieta (she/they). In honor of Mother's Day\, and the nurturing mentors who guide us\, Lucia will demonstrate wet and needle felting techniques to create felted flowers! Participants are encouraged to work along with Lucia during this event. Optional kits include just about everything you will need to get started on your felting project.  \n\n \n\nLucia's multi-media art practice spans soft sculpture\, collage\, embroidery\, felting and floral design. Learn about Lucia's anti-racist education and art practice as she shares her work. During this intimate studio visit\, Lucia will discuss her intergenerational relationship to Textile art\, trauma\, resilience\, and how her experience with floral design inspires her artwork.
